Then I stumbled onto 7-Zip, after a very unwilling trial of it in place of WinRAR it won my heart over. It is fast, sleek, elegant and best of all - OSS. Don't misunderstand me OSS isn't everything or the end all be all but when deploying software to a large quantity of workstations price does matter and when the price is $0 and the software outperforms the commercial alternative, well it is a no brainer on what the clear choice is.
